Plateau Governor Caleb Mutfwang has further eased the 24-hour curfew imposed in the Jos-Bukuru metropolitan area.
This is the third time the governor will ease the curfew imposed in the area last Sunday.
Mutfwang imposed a curfew on Jos-Bukuru metropolis following the looting of public and private assets by hoodlums in Jos North local government area of ββthe state.
On Friday, the governor approved free movement in the region between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., effective Saturday.
Previously, he had relaxed the curfew so that people could carry out their business activities without interference from security forces.
The Governorβs Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Gyang Bere, announced the latest development in a statement on Saturday in Jos.

He said there will now be free movement in the area between 9am and 7pm, effective from Sunday.
The governor’s aide said the decision was taken based on advice from security agencies regarding the situation in the area.
βIn view of the improving security situation in Jos-Bukuru metropolis, the Plateau Government has relaxed the curfew with effect from Sunday, August 11.
βResidents are now allowed to move freely to engage in lawful activities between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. daily until further notice.
βGovernor Caleb Mutfwang after consulting with security agencies has authorized this relaxation.
“This adjustment is made so that law-abiding citizens can continue to carry out their economic activities while maintaining public order,” said Bere.
