Happening now: Finally, the Super Eagles arrive in Uyo ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Benin Republic

Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Sunday morning arrived in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom, for their final day of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying against Benin Republic.

This came after the team failed to arrive on the scheduled day due to damage to the plane transporting them from South Africa.

Blueprint.ng reports that the other plane carrying them landed in Uyo at exactly 8am, two days before the match.
