Harmful accusations: Akpabio to sue Natasha Akpoti-Auduaghan, Elisha Abbo

Re: False and harmful accusations that aim for the President of the Senate, his excellence, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Gcon

The office of the President of the Senate strongly condemns the recent unfounded, false and inflammatory accusation made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Undughan, in which he falsely argued that the President of the Senate, his excellence, the senator Godswill Akpabio, Gcon, was involved in a conspiracy to assassinate his.

While spoken in the state of Kogi on April 1, 2025, the suspended senator Akpoti-Unduaghan said unfortunately and mischievously that senator Godswill Akpabio “recruited” former governor Yahaya beautiful to “assassin her to the state of Kogi rather than in Abuja”. This outrageous accusation is not only false but a complete and profoundly irresponsible and dangerous manufacture of causing public disorders, attract the attention of the media and discredit the person and office of the President of the Senate for further reasons.

It is important to remind the public that this same individual had previously made an not proven accusation of sexual harassment against Senator Akpabio – an affirmation that seems to have abandoned without explanations. Having not managed to gain traction with the narrative one, he has now intensified his disinformation campaign to a fatal and defamatory dimension.

This model of deliberate falsity and manipulative theatrical reveals a worrying desire to exploit public sensitivity through recurring narratives. It is a question of public record that previously made assassination accusations against the former governor Yaya Bello and others in 2019 and 2023, together with multiple statements not proven of sexual harassment against other dignitaries. His recurring narrative of persecution and his evident liar complex should not be armed to defame individuals or destroy the reputation earned hard.

It is interesting to note that the latter reckless accusation is not checking is isolated.

Elisha Abbo

Barely 24 hours later, on April 2, 2025, the former Senator Elisha Abbo appeared in Arise Television to revive a previously retired statement according to which Senator Akpabio “manipulated the judiciary” to ensure his removal from the Senate. The Nigerians will remember that Mr. Abo, in 2023, publicly withdrew this same accusation and treated excuses after recognizing that his statements were based on incorrect hypotheses. His removal from the Office was the result of a constitutionally founded judicial decision by the Court of Appeal, who decided independently that he was not duly elected to represent Adamawa North.

In a further turning point, Abo also said that he had been denied his rights by the President of the Senate. This is also categorically false. Rights such as salaries and indemnities are strictly developed through administrative and legal procedures. The President of the Senate does not issue and cannot approve or unilaterally deny these requests. Any delays or waste would be based exclusively on due diligence and compliance with consolidated protocols.

The times, the tone and the surprising similarity of these coordinated attacks clearly indicate a politically motivated defamation campaign. These individuals – beaten by non -disclosed interests – seem united in a desperate effort to undermine the credibility of the Senate and his leadership and intended to distract personal and political failures and failures.
Senator Godswill Akpabio is undaunted. As a statesman dedicated to national unity, institutional integrity and the rule of law, it will not be distracted by harmful falsity or inflammatory rhetoric.

Regardless of the need for legal appeal, formal letters of the application, in search of immediate public retractions, excuses and compensation for damage to the reputation, both Senator Natasha Akpoti-Unduaghan and Mr. Elisha Abbo.

We invite the Nigerian public in particular and the international community to refuse these unfounded and provocative narratives. The Senate, under the leadership of Senator Akpabio, remains concentrated on his constitutional mandate: to promote legislative excellence, safeguard democratic values โ€‹โ€‹and offer significant progress for the Nigerian people.
