Health: the permanent secretary urges administrators to defend the principles of the provision of effective services, planning of succession

Enugu (basic reporter) The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health and Social Wellness, Daju Kacholl urged the administrators under the Ministry to support the principles of effective delivery of the service and planning of succession.

He charged on Wednesday during a retreat organized by the Ministry for his directors at the Carlton Swiss Hotel in Enugu, in the state of Enugu. The theme of retreat was “to strengthen the leadership for effective and efficient governance of health and social well -being”.

A declaration by Alaba Balogun, said the deputy director of information and public relations, the permanent secretary underlined the importance of an effective delivery of the service and planning of the succession to achieve the mandate of the Ministry.

The permanent secretary stressed that the leadership is the driving force behind the organizations and urged the directors to give priority to transparency, innovation, partnerships and the construction of enhanced teams.

Basic journalists report that the withdrawal aimed to evaluate the current position of the Ministry, established long -term objectives and outlines the measures to achieve them, promoting a collaborative environment and a team building.

The directors were encouraged to adopt the federal strategy of the civil service and the 2021-2025 implementation plan, focusing on the new performance management system (PMS) to keep track of individual and collective contributions to the ministerial and national development objectives.

Kachollom underlined the importance of tutoring and succession planning to strengthen and support the progress of the ministry.

Meanwhile, the main highlights of the retreat include the presentations of PowerPoint by the participating directors in the ministry, further affirming a deliberate intent of the top management on the improvement of leadership skills and on facing the challenges that face the ministry by offering solutions to overcome them.
