Hezbollah commander killed in Israeli airstrike

A top Hezbollah commander was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Lebanese capital Beirut.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in a statement posted on Telegram on Wednesday identified the slain terrorist as Haji Yusuf Ismail Hashem, Commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front.”

Iran-backed Shiite organizations have not commented on the claims, although Lebanese media reported that Hezbollah confirmed his death.


Seven people were killed, and 26 others injured in an overnight attack on a neighborhood on the city’s southern outskirts, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said.

Hezbollah said in a statement that Mohammad Baqir al-Nabulsi, a well-known Hezbollah member and nephew of Hezbollah spokesman Mohamed al-Nabulsi, who was assassinated by Israel in 2024, was killed.
