Home Eagles defeated Congo to end Chan’s campaign with victory

Super Eagles based at home has come out of the African nations (Chan) even though they beat Congo 2-0 in their last group match on Tuesday.

The Nigerians, led by coach Eric Chelle, fell into a 1-0 defeat against defending champions Senegal in their opening match.

They then faced Sudan in important second group equipment, and stunned 4-0, forcing out of the competition.

Having the last appearance against Congo, Eagles did a good performance to ensure they took victory and bow in style.

Home Eagles finally broke the deadlock in the 56th minute after a cross from the left wing was lowered by Siku Alimi so that Joseph was finished with his right foot in front of the goal.

Nigeria almost doubled their lead in the 82nd minute after Ismaila found himself in the right position, but failed to convert.

Atio Congo was shown a straight red card for a rough tackle to Alimi in the 92nd minute.

Nigeria made it 2-0 in the 93rd minute thanks to an extraordinary header from Alimi to finally seal the maximum point for the team.

But their Chan’s journey ended here.
