“If I am his son, I will advise him”

Federal Capital Region Minister, Nyesom Wike, has launched a spicy criticism of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, accusing it lacking political consistency and switched repeatedly in an attempt to despair to become president.

Speaking at a media farm in Abuja on Monday, Wike tracks Atiku’s political history, questioning the motives and commitment of former vice president to a single ideology.

“Atiku was in PDP in 1999, then he joined the Action Congress (AC). After the AC, he returned to the PDP, then moved to the Congress of all Progressive (APC), and then returned to the PDP again, all pursuing the presidential ticket,” Wike told.

Taking a personal excavation, the former Governor of the State Rivers said, “If I am his son, I will sit and ask: ‘Father, how can you continue to jump from one party to another party at nearly 80 years?'”

Wike’s comments followed the report about Atiku’s latest step to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), where he was believed to be in harmony with other opposition figures in an effort to form a new coalition against the Tinubu Ball President ahead of the 2027 election.

However, Wike refused the development because it was no more than a political maneuver by a man who could no longer secure the presidential ticket in his own party.

“How to PDP now, it is impossible for Atiku to get a ticket, therefore uncomfortable. Therefore, he tells you, ‘Let’s do a coalition against Tinubu.’ That’s not true, “said Wike.

“That’s because he could not get a presidential ticket under the PDP which he pushed for the coalition,” he added, suggested that the alliance was less related to national interest and more related to personal ambitions.
