“If you kill 10 bandits, 20 will appear tomorrow, ‘Bandit leader told Govt during a peaceful meeting

A famous bandit leader, Kachalla Ummaru, has threatened to rearrange his subordinates and make life difficult for the Nigerians and authorities if his men were killed further even though there was a peaceful agreement that was mediated by different communities in the northwest.

Ummaru who made a threat during the peace meeting in the state of Katsina on Saturday, reportedly said that every effort of government forces to kill 10 bandits would produce 20 increases as retaliation.

A peaceful dialogue video held between bandits and community figures in the Matazu regional government in the state was distributed on social media platforms on Sunday.

In the video, Kingpin Bandit was heard warning the security operators on the attack continuously on the bandits and armed shepherd, insisting that the dialogue process would only produce results if all parties carry out restraints.

He stated that such peace movements in the past had been damaged because the security operator refused to keep their own part from bargaining and would immediately pursue bandits after the meeting.

He added that every time it happens, security personnel will turn around to blame them instead of telling people about the truth.

Ummaru also accused the security operator of targeting Fulani’s pastor and marking them for eliminating and swearing that if it was like that repeating himself after a peaceful meeting, they would not have a choice but to leave the agreement achieved and to continue the fight.
