Ighodalo campaign committee members dump PDP in Edo

A member of Governor Asue Ighodalo’s Campaign Committee in Edo State, Prince Felix Isuku, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Isuku announced his resignation from the PDP in a letter dated May 24, 2024 addressed to the party chairman and state officials.

The letter was provided to reporters on Friday.

He blamed his departure from the PDP on the crisis rocking the party in the state.

Isuku’s resignation from the PDP came two days after the State Working Committee sacked the state’s former deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, and National Deputy Chairman of the South-South Party, Dan Orbih, for anti-party activities.

The letter read: “I am writing to inform you that after extensive consultations with my extended political family in the Owan constituency of Owan East and Owan West, I have decided to formally resign as a member of the PDP.”

“The reason for my resignation is due to the high level of power struggle that started with the factionalization of the party and metamorphosed into unprecedented and endless political factions or divisions that continue to influence the party’s internal politics.

“Another reason is the continued megalomaniacal attitude of some party leaders, which cannot be ignored.”
