IGP appoints Benjamin Hundeyin as a force spokesperson …

The police inspector general (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of the CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as a new public relations official.

The manager of outgoing public relations, the DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced the appointment of Hundeyin in a declaration issued on Thursday 4 September 2025.

Until his current appointment, Hundeyin was the official of Police Public Relations for the Lagos State Police Command.

Adejobi also mentioned the IGP of having accused Hndeyin of exploiting his experience of communication and security to strengthen the activities of the public relations of the force and guarantee continuous positive relations with the public.

Hundeyin achieved a Ba (Hons) in English at Lagos State University and a MSC in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology at the University of Ibadan.

He also obtained a certificate in civil coordination from the international training and peace training center of Martin Luther Agwai, Jaji, Kaduna State.

He is associated with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (Nipr), a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) and associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (Cipm).

An expert communicator, Hundeyin previously had been official of Public Relations of the Police at the headquarters of the Area 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos.

It was part of the Nigerian contingent in the Mission of Maintenance of the Peace of the United Nations in Darfur, in Sudan (Unamid) in 2020.

He also worked as an administrative officer at the Department of Public Relations of the Force, the headquarters of the Force, Abuja.
