The government of the IMO State, through the Primary Healthcare Department of the local government area of Abhh Mbaise, officially began the second round of the National Immunization Plus Giars (Nipds) of 2025. The exercise takes place from Saturday 28 June to Tuesday 1 July 2025, between 8:00 and 16:00 per day.
Organized by the Agency for the development of health care of the IMO state primary in collaboration with the health partners, the campaign is aimed at children aged between 0 and 59 months (less than 5 years) for the vaccine against oral policies (Nopv2) and children aged between 0 and 11 months for the immunization of injectable routines.
Healthcare professionals will visit houses, health centers, schools, markets, churches and other venues of the community to administer vaccines and ensure that no child is excluded.
“All immunization is safe, effective and free”, underlined Mrs. Nnabugwu Chinwe, the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) and the PHC coordinator for about Mbaise LGA. Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring the immunization cards of their children for adequate documentation.
By adding his voice to the public mobilization, high chief Romanus Owuamamam Chikwendu, general president, Ngurunwenkwo Development Union, has issued an appeal that urges everyone to spread the rumor:
The implementation of the second phase of the National Immunization Plus Days (Nipds) starting from today, from 28 June to 1 July 2025. Please share all the platforms you belong to and let people know you. Thank you.”
This push for immunization reiterates the continuous commitment of the government for the prevention of health and diseases throughout the IMO state.
