IMO SWAN suspends the coverage of IMO’s activities does on unresolved issues

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), the chapter of the IMO State, wishes to notify the public in general, the interested parties of football and the largest sports community of its decision to suspend the coverage and participation in the activities of the IMO state football association (FA) under the leadership of Barr. Dam Ifeanyi, effective immediately.

This difficult decision follows a series of misunderstandings and unresolved actions that have created a relationship aimed between the association and members of the community of sports media in the state.

*Key problems of concern:*

1. *Retreat of the media partnership: *
The president of the swan, Mr. Cosmos Chukwuemeka, was recently informed by Barr. Dike that the IMO Fa had decided to end its media partnership with Swan, which includes the use of the Association of the Office Space for its monthly meetings of the Congress.

2. *Access to limited media: *

During the NPFL equipment between Heartland FC and Kano Pillars, some of our members were denied access to the press areas designated to the Dan Anyiam Stadium. Unfortunately, this situation has led to a tense atmosphere and unnecessary interruptions for the professional duties of our members.

3. *Public observations and misunderstandings: *

Some public observations made by the president of the FA during and after the part of the day of the match were considered unresolved by some of our members. We believe that these statements can be derived from misunderstandings, but have contributed to growing concerns.

4. *Concerns about the conduct involving a swan member: *

Of particular concern was a comment made by the President of the Eme Fa during a recent function in Ngor Okpala, where our Ayize member Anthony felt personally threatened. While we believe that this could have arisen by high emotions, we urge that these exchanges are managed with caution and mutual respect, in particular among the professionals engaged in the development of sport.

*Our stand:*

Swan Imo undertakes to promote the development of sport and football in the state. However, mutual respect and open communication between the interested parties are essential. Until we commit ourselves in a constructive dialogue and resolve the above issues friendly, we are sorry to announce a temporary retreat from events and activities IMO FA.

*Our appeal:*

We respectfully invoke the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the other parties interested in mediating and supporting the peaceful commitment between Swan and Imo does for the good of sports development in the IMO state.

We reaffirm our commitment to professionalism, equitable relationships and the growth of football in the state. Our goal remains to work in unity with all sports institutions and leadership, promoting progress through collaboration and responsibility.
