Imo women’s handball captain hails Dunamis icon Onyeocha, NDDC

The captain of the Imo State women’s handball team, Chidera Osinachi, has attributed the team’s success at the just concluded Niger Delta Games to the motivation and support received from the state commissioner for sports, Obinna Onyeocha.

Osinachi said the encouragement from Onyeocha and the other referees boosted the players’ morale and helped them stay focused throughout the competition, ultimately pushing the team to victory over their opponents.

The captain noted that the commissioner’s faith in the team before the competition was a major source of inspiration for the players to give their best and make Imo State proud.

He also commended the sponsors and organizers of the games, especially the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Dunamis Icon, for successfully hosting the tournament and providing the athletes with the necessary facilities and welfare.
According to her, the organizers ensured that the teams were well served during the competition.

“Everything they provided, they did their best – the facilities, the food, the equipment – they provided everything we needed. I would like to thank them,” Osinachi said.

He also appreciated the journalists and sports icons who supported and promoted the tournament, noting that their efforts helped project the talents discovered at the games.
