What happened in the village of Palestine Ras Al -wayn was more than just a land dispute – according to the human rights group, it was a systematic transfer of the whole community.
Activists in the field reported a surge of violence and intimidation by the Israeli settlers who aimed to take Palestinian families from their homes.
The recording captured by Rachel Abramovitz, a group member who was looking for work in the eye, showed activists who tried to block settlers from winning control over the center of the village.
“They gradually attack the community and expand. The aim is to terrorize people, to make them run away,” Abramovitz said.
Settlement movements track back to 1967, when Israel seized the West Bank, East Jerusalem, Gaza, and Golan height during the six -day war.
Settlements begin as a small post, often unofficial. For decades, they have grown into cities with infrastructure, roads and security provided by the state.
Today, 700,000 Israeli settlers live in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, in a society that is considered illegal under international law – the appointment of Israeli disputes.
Since the attack led by Hamas on October 7, 2023 and the Gaza Military Bombing the next 19 months in Gaza, violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank has increased sharply.
According to the United Nations and human rights groups such as B’Tsem, the number of these attacks was carried out with impunity, further pressing Palestinians to escape.
Salaam Ka’abneh, a life of a life from the Bedouin village of Ras Al-Wayn in the Jordan Valley, said his family had lived in the land for more than 50 years. He was worried they could be forced to leave.
Mr Ka’abneh said: “About a year and four months ago, the settlers cut our access into the water and grazing land. They also stole more than 2,000 sheep from us in the Tel Al-Auja complex. We faced daily, day and night attacks.
“They terrorized our children and women, threw stones, fired bullets, and creating chaos with their vehicles. We were surrounded. We no longer have access to grasslands or water, and our sheep are still locked up.”
Records from the area showed the settlers driving freely through the Palestinian community, some armed.
While the Israeli army officially regulates the West Bank C area, where the Al-Wayn race is located, human rights groups say settlement violence is almost always uncontrollable.
Under international law, occupation power is required to protect civilians under its control. But Sarit Michaeri from B’Tsem, a group of Israeli human rights, said Israel failed to uphold its responsibilities.
“Israel does not ask for settlement accountability. On the contrary – settlers know that if they act hard, they will receive support from all branches of government. There is full impunity. The fact is, it is more accurate to say that the settlers function as a branch of government.
“This is a robbery during the day – approved by Israeli authorities,” continued Michaini.
“And that is the same as ethnic cleaning – displacing most of the Palestinian population to make the area available for the use of Israel.”
To better understand, we traveled to the front post on the top of the hill occupied by the settlers facing the Salaam Village. But we are not far. Our car is quickly surrounded, and the atmosphere becomes hostile.
Clear: We are not accepted. We left without an answer but with a deeper understanding of the fear of the Palestinian community alive every day.
International pressure grows. The new British government imposed sanctions on several settlers, including Daniella Weiss.

Hamas’ Head of Gaza ‘was eliminated’
Known as ‘Baptist Mrs.’ from the settlement movement, Weiss has become a key figure in expanding settlements in the West Bank.
“There will never be a Palestinian state between the Jordan and Mediterranean River. Never,” Weiss said. “We annex with facts on the ground. The aim is to block all possible Palestinian countries in the heart of Israel.
“If Netanyahu wants to stop me, he can.”
The Israeli government said the accusations of ethnic cleaning “are baseless and without basis”.
But the Human Rights groups argue that what happened in the West Bank has far beyond the creeping anexation.
Palestinian land is quickly consumed by settlements, military zones, and settlement posts – shrinking space in which Palestinian countries in the future may be one day.
