The Independent National Electoral Commission has launched the selection of associations that have satisfied the criteria to advance the subsequent phase of the registration of the political party.
The National Commissioner and the President of the Committee of the Committee for the Education of Information and Voters, Sam Olumekun, revealed it in a declaration on Thursday, stating that the number of questions received has increased to 151.
According to him, the list of successful associations will be made public immediately after the secondary elections of 16 August.
“From the fourth update released on 23 July 2025, the Commission received eight other letters of intent from the associations in search of registration as political parties, bringing the total to 151.
“After creating the portal for the registration of the party, the Commission has launched the list associations that meet the requirements to proceed with the application phase. The details will be issued immediately after the insignificant elections in 12 states scheduled for Saturday 16 August 2025,” said Olyumekun.
On the resumption of registration of voters continuously at national level that will begin on August 18, Olyumekun has declared that the exercise will take place in 811 centers, including 774 offices of the local government of the inac and 37 offices of the territory of the state and federal capital, from 9:00 to 15:00, from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
He added that for easy identification, the Commission would have distributed a live online CVR locator to help citizens find registration centers at national level.
The locator will go live on August 17th and it will be possible to access the official ACL platforms.
OLUMEKUN said that a 38 -page document containing the addresses of the registration centers in person 811 was loaded on the INCC website and on other official platforms, together with dedicated telephone lines for each state to serve as helpful construction sites.
“The procedure for online registration and in person remains the same as the 2022. The detailed information on the process, including video clips, will be released next week,” he said.
