INSC Natasha notification of Retell Petition, the verification process begins – BluePrint Newspapers Limited

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INC) has formally warned the suspended senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Auduaghan, of the petition to remember her from the Senate from its voters.

In a letter addressed to Natasha, dated 26 March, and signed by the Incen secretary, Mrs. Rose Orian Anthony, the Commission said that her action was based on section 69 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

“I write to warn you of receiving a petition from representatives of voters recorded in your electoral college in search of your call from the Senate,” he said.

“This notification is in line with the arrangement of clause 2 (a) of the regulations and guidelines of the Commission for the recall, 2024

In the meantime, Iosc, in an update on the recall exercise, said that the representatives of the signatories, who presented the petition and bags of the signatures collected a couple of days ago, did not present their contact address and telephone numbers as required by clause 2 (a) of the commission regulations and guidelines for memory 2024.

“The next step is to examine the list of signatories presented by the signatories to ascertain that the petition is signed by more than half (over 50%) of the voters recorded in the electoral college.

“This will be done in the next few days. The result, which will be made public, will determine the next step to the Commission.

“Once again we reassure the Nigerians that the trial will be open and transparent,” said a declaration signed by the National Commissioner Incen and President of the Committee for the Information Education Committee and the voters, Sam Olumekun.
