Iran accuses us of complicity in Israel’s strikes, retaliation of votes – Thage

Iran accused the United States of complicity in what described as “premeditated military aggression” by Israel who left more than 100 people dead, including nuclear scientists and military personnel, in air attacks during the night.

Speaking in an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council on Friday, the Iranian ambassador to the United Nations, Amir-Saeid Iravani, condemned the strikes, marking them as “state terrorism” orchestrated together by Washington and Tel Aviv.

Ambassador Iravani said that Israel carried out the attacks “with full intelligence and political support from the United States Administration”, supporting a direct involvement of the United States in the supply of weapons and intelligence used in the assault.

“The US officials expressly and brazenly confessed their intentional help and assistance to crimes, including their deliberate transfer of weapons,” said Iravani.

He highlighted the human toll of the attack, affirming: “We will not forget that our people lost their lives because of Israeli attacks with American weapons”.

Among the main objectives were the nuclear structure of Natanz Iraniana, a site under the full monitoring of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Iravani warned that the strikes risked “catastrophic radiological consequences” for the region and accused Israel of having tried to derail the ongoing nuclear interviews.

The ambassador also criticized what he called the inaction of the United Nations and AIEA, stating that their silence had “encouraged this rogue regime”.

He quoted the resolution of the United Nations Security Council 487 (1981), who condemned the Israeli strike on the Osirak reactor in Iraq, as proof of the “ten -year -old standard model” of the Council.

“Those who support this regime, with the United States on the front line, must understand that they are accomplices,” said Iravani, accusing Washington of deliberately undermining international peace and diplomacy.

He connected the Israeli assault on wider US efforts to sabotage the diplomatic commitment, adding: “The United States orchestrated this chaos to kill diplomacy”.

Reiteating the previous warnings of Iran, Iravani said that the country would have invoked its right to self -defense pursuant to article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

“Iran will respond decisively and proportionately – in a moment, in a place and by means of its choice”, he said, defining the “inevitable” response to restore deterrence and keep responsible attackers
