Iran put aside the conversation with us in the middle of the Israeli attack

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi firmly put aside negotiations with the United States while Israel continued its military attacks in the Iranian region, signifying the attitude of hardening in the midst of a sharp regional fierce escalation.

Speaking in a state television interview broadcast on Friday, Araghchi said Washington had “repeatedly” conveyed his willingness to open diplomatic channels, but Tehran firmly rejected the offer.

“Americans have repeatedly sent a call message seriously to negotiations,” he said. “But we have explained that as long as aggression does not stop, there will be no place for diplomacy and dialogue.”

Top diplomat statements came when Iran rolled out the wave of Israeli air strikes targeting military and nuclear sites throughout the country. The strike, which was launched last Friday, encouraged a rapid and strong response of retaliation from Tehran, with Iranian missiles to attack what officials were described as “military and economic centers” in Israel.

Araghchi, which is expected in Geneva today for talks with his colleagues in Europe, emphasized that Iran will continue the discussion only with European stakeholders, not the United States.

“There will be no talks with anyone as long as the Israeli attack continues,” he said, emphasizing that Iran remained open to dialogue with Britain, France and Germany, together with the Head of Foreign Policy of UE Kaja Kallas.

According to the Iranian State News Agency, Irna, Geneva’s talks are expected to focus on the de-escalation strategy and broader implications of the current conflict for Iran’s nuclear agreements and regional stability.

Araghchi also took the opportunity to maintain the Iranian missile program, calling it “extraordinary, defensive, and on target.” He stressed that the Islamic Republic strictly observed international norms in its military operations.

“Our armed forces are only targeting military and economic centers, never residential areas, hospitals, or civil buildings,” he said, in an effort to ensure both domestic and international audiences amid increasing civil anxiety.
