In a statement issued by the Israeli military, the offensive was described as a mission that was driven by intelligence calculated: “Jet IAF is completed the first stage which includes attacks on dozens of military targets, including nuclear targets in various regions of Iran.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the strike as a step needed for national security, saying, “The attack is to restore Iran’s threat to the survival of Israel and will last for several days as needed to eliminate threats.”

Reacting to Israeli attacks, Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei condemned the attack and vowed to retaliate. He accused Israel targeting the civil zone and stated that Iran would not allow the blood of the commander and scientist who had fallen behind.

“In enemy attacks, a number of commanders and scientists became martyred. A replacement and their colleagues will immediately continue their duties,” read the statement published by the Semi-Resmi Tasnim news agency.
