Jos school building collapse a major blow to humanity – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the collapse of a school building in Jos, Plateau State, as a major blow to Nigeria and humanity.

At least 22 people were confirmed dead and 120 others trapped in the rubble of the two-storey Saints Academy building that collapsed in Busa Buji, Jos North Local Government Area of ​​the state on Friday.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP expressed sadness over the tragic incident that led to the death of a large number of promising young students in Plateau State.

The statement read: “Indeed, the heart-rending deaths of these young Nigerians, who left their homes to attend school in search of knowledge and pursue their dreams and aspirations is a major blow to our nation.

“This is also a big blow to humanity and we pray that their deaths will not be in vain.”

The group expressed their sympathy to Governor Caleb Mutfwang and prayed with the teachers, parents, siblings, families affected, and those injured during this difficult time.

He praised Mutfwang for his quick intervention in the incident.
