June 12 recognition of heroes: Rep Whingan Tocca Tinubu
While President Bola Ahmed Tinubu broke the Jinx of 12 June 1993 recognizing the heroes and heroines who risked their lives for democracy in Nigeria, the Hon. Sessi Oluwaseun Whingan, representing the Federal College of Badagry of the State of Lagos in the tenth assembly, has the president Bola Tinubu for recognizing the sacrifices of the democratic heroes of Nigeria while gathering young people behind the long -term vision of the administration for national growth.
The legislator who spoke with journalists shortly after the joint session of the National Assembly with the President Tinubu on Thursday 12 June, described the tribute of the President of the President of the President as a significant gesture, recognizing those who “fought the struggle” and underlining that honoring these heroes go beyond the party lines. “When you do the right thing, your enemies also agree with you,” he said, highlighting the rare unit of voices in support of the president’s message, also from the opposition.
He compared the current state of Nigeria to a patient undergoing care: “When you are sick, take drugs, but healing takes time. It is there that we are as a nation. The president is throwing a concrete base for a greater economy and a bigger Nigeria”.
Facing the role of youth in the construction of the nation, Hon. Sessi said the full support of the younger generations. “The future belongs to us. We see that today the government’s policies align with the vision of young people,” he said, asking for a continuous political evaluation to ensure that they reflect the aspirations of the young and dynamic population of Nigeria.
Basic journalists report that the federal legislator of Lagos expressed optimism in the democratic journey of Nigeria, praising the president’s commitment to the inclusive governance and national healing. “We thank Mr. President and believe in popular democracy,” he said.
