June 12: Senator Sampson throws weight behind the economic reforms of Tinubu

Abuja (Core reporter) Senator Sampson Ekong (PDP) representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, he praised President Bola Tinubu for his economic reforms in the last two years, while he has also defended his economic and security policies. He underlined the importance of change and reform in national development.
Speaking in an interview with journalists shortly after President Tinubu turned to the joint session of the National Assembly on Thursday 12 June, Senator Ekong criticized those who oppose Tinubu, saying that they are unable to build alternative political platforms.
He took a shower praises the President’s economic strategy, in particular the emphasis on investments in technology and safety.
Ekong said that the Nigerians are starting to love the values of democracy because they are now enjoying the dividends of democracy.
He said: “When you look at the type of infrastructure in the country now, you will notice that we got some milestones. We did very well. We did very well.
“Now we have a deeper conscience on democracy. We have a deeper conscience that we must grow our economy because when the economy grows, strengthens the trust of the public. I have always considered a weak economy puts pressure on democracy. So in terms of economics, in terms of growing infrastructure, in terms of life like a people, we did well,” he said.
