The Executive Chairman of Kagarko Local Government of Kaduna State, Nasara Rabo, has commended the member representing Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency, Gabriel Zock, for his credible representation.
It is recalled that on 19 October 2023, the Court of Appeal declared the elections of 18 March 2023 in the federal constituency of Kachia/Kagarko inconclusive and ordered new elections in the entire constituency.
After the by-election, the All Progressives Congress lawmaker was declared the winner with 42,461 votes, beating his nearest rival, Umar Gurara of the Peoples Democratic Party who secured 26,208 votes, while Mr Austine Umar of the Labour Party trailed with 2,311 votes.
The Kagarko Council Chairman made the commendation on Friday in a press release issued to journalists in Kaduna.
According to him, both the party leadership and the voters in the federal constituency have been impressed by Zock’s successes since he took office six months ago.
He said that Zock had contributed greatly to promoting the principles and ideals of the party in all its branches, judging by the series of successes recorded in his second term of re-election.
He commended the empowerment of 500 selected women across the 22 districts that make up the federal constituency with grants amounting to 37 million naira.
He further explained that the legislature recently released the sum of 100 million naira to small and medium enterprise owners to boost economic activities and livelihoods.
“Four cars worth N36 million were also presented to his party chairmen and campaign managers and a cash gift of N15 million to religious leaders for their peace efforts.
“As the chairman of Kagarko LGA, I commend his performance as one in a million. This is the first of its kind in the history of our constituency.
“We are very proud to join Gabriel Zock’s commendable achievement in his quest to bring the support and benefits of democracy closer to the people.
“It is a fact that the federal constituency of Kachia/Kagarko has continued to make tremendous progress in the areas of youth and women empowerment, entrepreneurship and professional development, and provision of social services.”
“His re-election bid not only supported the party’s principles and ideals of teaching people to fish, but also demonstrated a greater commitment to delivering on the promises he made to the electorate during the last general election.
“We are optimistic that these gestures will continue to attract more recognition, praise and more members to join the party group, ahead of the Council elections on 19 October.
“With a series of achievements thus far, I express my support and confidence in the capacity and ability of the legislature to attract development to our federal constituency.
“We must not fail to recognize some of the projects and programs, including the sinking of motorized wells, the distribution of scholarships and many others,” Zock added.
The local government chairman, however, called on APC members to remain committed and motivated to ensure the party achieves further victories in future elections.
