Kafayat Folakemi Shittu helps Torsun Sanayispor to ensure historical promotion to the Super League of Turkish women

The midfielder of Torsun Sanayispor, Kafayat Folakemi Shittu, has expressed his enthusiasm after playing a key role in the historical promotion of his team to the Super League of Turkish women for the first time.

Despite suffering a 1-0 defeat against Yüksekova in the last playoff match, Torsun Sanayispor assured a second place in the Turkish Women’s Football League playoff, which was enough to guarantee its promotion. Yüksekova emerged as the general champions.

Shittu, who played a crucial role in the center of his team’s field throughout the season, shared his joy after achieving the milestone.

“This is a dream come true for us. We work very hard throughout the season, and although we lost the final game, ensuring the promotion means everything. I am grateful to my teammates, coaches and fans for their incredible support,” he said.

The promotion of Torsun Sanayispor marks a new chapter in the history of the club, while preparing to compete among the women’s elite football teams in Turkey in the next season of the Super League.

With Shittu’s impressive performances, the team will seek to have a strong impact on its debut season at the higher level.
