The Governor of the State of Kano, Abba Yusuf, revealed that the current administration has assigned N8 billion for the Ramadan power program this year.
Yusuf revealed it during the flag of the distribution of 1,250 cartoons of dates donated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, held in the Crown room, Government House, Kano, Friday
This was contained in a declaration of the governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Tofa, Saturday.
Yusuf, who was represented by the secretary of the state government, Alhaji Farouk Ibrahim, thanked the general console of Saudi Arabia in Kano, Khalil Adamawi, for the good gesture, saying that it was the fourth time that the state received this donation.
He added that the donation came at the right time when the current administration was making concerted efforts to provide food products to the least privileged in society, considering the economic difficulties faced by citizens.
He declared that Kano was the most peaceful state in Nigeria, observing that this has attracted many people to come to settle in the state, which also brought further pressure on the government, in particular on health and infrastructure.
“Your excellence, this year, Ramadan is arriving in a very difficult moment in which the state of Kano is the only interior of peace in the north of Nigeria, therefore the pressure on the government, on the people, on the infrastructures is enormous,” he said.
