Kano Varsity closes the female hostel for an alleged immorality


The Maryam Abaccha American University of Nigeria (Maaun) has ordered the immediate closure of the Al-ANSAR SCHOOL SUCTIVE HOSTELS located on Hotoro and Udb Road in Kano Metropolis.

The school cited serious safety, safety and disciplinary violations as reasons for closing.

The directive was made public in a declaration issued on Monday by the vice president of the University, Campus Life, dr. Hamza Garba, who affirmed the decision, followed the news of repeated violations of the university conduct.

“I am directed by the direction of writing, informing and attracting the attention of our esteemed parents and students that the University has withdrawn its approval for the hostels of students at the investigabulation located in Udb Road and Hotoro”, reads the note.

According to Garba, the hostels in question have not been able to comply with the consolidated regulations that regulate the accommodation of private students.

“These failures, he observed, had led to” various infringements, including cases reported of immoral behavior, poor supply of water and electricity, students’ violence, unauthorized movement at night and the sharing of structures with unknown tenants.

“These problems represent a serious threat to the well -being of our students,” he added.

In response, Maaun directed all the students residing in the hostels interested in leaving the premises immediately after the exams of the current semester.

The university also warned students from maintaining any further connection with hostels, underlining that the decision was made to guarantee a “safe, safe and morally right accommodation environment”.

The University has also observed that it is collaborating with the relevant safety agencies to enforce the directive and guarantee full compliance.
