‘Kanu is a conscience prisoner, has no case to be answered’ —ipob

The IGBO separatist group that is prohibited, the native of Biafra (IPOB), has called the international community and the Nigerian government to free its imprisoned leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, insisting that he is a “conscience prisoner” who has no case to answer.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Secretary of the Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, the group said the prosecution of Kanu by the Nigerian government for what he referred to as a false accusation bordering crime and terrorism of betrayal, was a serious violation of his fundamental rights.

Ipob insisted that even though it did not ask for mercy in the name of Kanu, instead demanded justice to be done.

“We call on Nigerians, the international community, and all justice lovers to heed Clarion’s call: Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has no case to be answered,” Powerful said.

“Sustainable persecution of our leaders is not only a massive violation of their fundamental rights but also the indictment of the Nigerian judiciary, which has come down to the bells of Judicial Terrorism and the negligence of criminal duties.

“It’s been too long, the Nigerians have been misled by fake narratives spread by the Nigerian state and the media involved, claiming that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu faced accusations of betrayal or terrorism.

“Let’s straighten out: Allegations of betrayal crimes against our leaders have been hit many years ago when the former Attorney General, Abubakar Malam, realized that the case could not be won. No betrayal was carried out.

“The state of Nigeria, in its despair to silence the struggle of Biafran, uses accusations of terrorism, regardless of the decision of the Federal High Court which is clear that IPOB is a legal organization.

“This decision was bravely canceled through the forum shopping by Malami, which received an order to ban from the Kafarati judge court without giving a fair session of the guaranteed session based on the 36 Nigerian Constitution.

“This action itself explained the Nigerian justice as a means of oppression rather than a fortress of justice.”

The Biafran agitators also describe the execution period to cancel the valid assessment achieved in the criminal trial issued and released from Kanu as a misuse of the judicial process by the Nigerian government who was accused of being involved in silencing its struggle by using terrorism organizations even though the Federal High Court clearly ruled that the organization was a legal organization.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a conscience prisoner, detained because of its unwavering commitment to the determination of the biafran people ‘own fate,” the statement continued.

“The Nigerian state has no cases.

“Ipob does not ask for mercy; we demand justice. Almighty God, witness truth, stands with us.

“Under the leadership of our unwavering leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wanted to overcome the wrong information and the constant judiciary around the detention and prosecution that violated the law.

“The most terrible is the misuse of the judicial process that has never happened before by judge Tsammani and his panelist partners in the appeal court. In a step that opposes the principles of law and justice, they use civil-civil procedures with the implementation-to cancel the valid decisions achieved in criminal trials, a decision that has released Mazi Naznik.

“We urge the Nigerians and the global community to study this law and recognize the hypocrisy of those who claim to uphold it while breaking their principles.

“The obsession of the Nigerian state to persecute Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has revealed his judiciary as an accomplice to the neo-colonial agenda to suppress the legitimate aspirations of the Biafran people.

“This persecution is not only an attack on one person but an attack on justice, truth, and the rule of law. Nigeria is at risk of destroying whatever is left from his global reputation and reduces his judiciary into a laughing stock.

“Those who encourage the Tinubu regime to survive on this dangerous road do not expect Nigeria well. They underestimate the strong determination and fanatical service of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on the cause of Biafra. His courage, even in the chain, as evidenced in videos interrogated by DSS, even as a test.
