Katsina State Governor commends NA’s efforts in curbing security challenges

The Executive Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency Mallam Umar Dikko Radda, has applauded the sacrifices of the Nigerian Army in reducing security challenges experienced in Katsina State in particular and the nation as a whole.

The Governor delivered the eulogy on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, when he visited Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), in his office at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.

Governor Radda noted with satisfaction the commitment of the troops in combating security challenges in Katsina State. He underlined that the important results achieved in the field of security are due to the selfless sacrifice and tenacity of the troops. He appreciated the invaluable support of the COAS to the troops operating in the state.

The Governor also appreciated the visit of the COAS to Katsina where he motivated the troops in all spheres, enabling them to carry out their duties effectively. The Governor expressed the readiness of the Katsina State Government to collaborate with the Nigerian Army to establish an additional unit in the State to further strengthen security. He appreciated the synergy that exists between the Katsina Watch Corps and the Nigerian Army and further highlighted the cordial relationship between his government and the 17th Brigade, stressing that such collaboration is what is needed to defeat adversaries.

In response, the COAS appreciated the Governor for the visit and assured him that the Nigerian Army under his watch will continue to make the necessary sacrifices to protect not only Katsina State but the entire nation. The COAS commended the government and good people of Katsina State for their extraordinary support to the Nigerian Army and urged that such invaluable support be sustained.

General Oluyede reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguard law-abiding citizens, protect communities and create safe conditions for economic growth.
