Kenneth Omeruo has not yet made his debut for the CFR Cluj after joining the Romanian side at the beginning of the month.
Nigeria’s International has not been able to train with the team or play due to a knee injury that is currently breastfeeding.
He suffered the injury in October 2024 while playing for his former club, Kasımpşa, during a 3-3 draw against Galatasaray.
Although he returned to complete training in January, he never recovered the Fitness of the party, which finally led to the termination of his contract with Kasımpşa in February.
Since arriving in Cluj, Omeruo has lost seven games. The exact date of his return is still unknown.
The coach of the club, Dan Petrescu, expressed his frustration about the situation of Omeruo three weeks ago, declaring:
“He’s not ready. I don’t know if you know it, but he has a big problem with his knee,” Petrescu said. “We are trying to solve your problem, we are trying to put it back. When you normally train with the team, you will have the opportunity to play. Until then, you can’t train with the team.”
While there is still no clear timeline for its return, the club hopes that Omeruo will recover and join the team soon.
