Kogi warns young people against assistance, encouraging Banditi – Thage

By Joseph Amedu, Lokoja

The government of the state of Kogi has promised to treat all young people as terrorists in the state who abandon themselves to help and encourage bandits to cause chaos on innocent citizens.

The State Governor of the State of Kogi’s state security, Jerry Omadara declared him in the Egbe di Egbe palace, while providing a report on the progress and effort of the state government on the fight against insecurity in Kogi West.

According to him, the information on the intelligence at their disposal indicated that some young people in the land of Okun used motorcycles to transmit weapons and food things to the forest bandits.

He said that about six or seven young people from Okun are already in his black book to be in the payments of the bandits, ensuring that since some young people have a link with the bandits, the government will not hesitate to treat them as bandits.

“Purgeable, the bandits now operate with the Okunland indigenous people. The bandits have obtained our women who sell non -alcoholic beverages, bread and other food products. Women have provided them with food products and giving them vital information.

“There are people to Yagba West who paid for the money of the bandits so that they have not kidnapped it. We will have people at the right time because it is enough.

“Our young people are already involved, they have used their motorcycles to provide them with weapons and ammunition in the bush. The women of these bandits have brought ammunition from the far north and give our young peanuts to transmit the ammunition to their men in the Bush of Okun Land who used in terrorizing our people.

“Imagine, the women of Okun who become friends with the bandits. Once again our people from Okun are becoming too lazy to the extent that, it is the Flolais who cultivate Okro, pepper, corn for us and this is an aberration.

“I want to emphasize that the government of the state of Kogi does not sleep on the insurgents in the land of Okun. We arrested and killed many of their leaders and we will continue to look for bands that have not allowed us to sleep or go to the farms.

“We will make our communities safe, would make the state sure that our farmers go to the farm. We will continue to follow the bandits until we stop killing them all so that our people can sleep with their two eyes closed,” he said.

He observed that the state government has strongly invested in agriculture in providing inputs to farmers, saying that time has come for the Okun to take their destiny in their hands so that no body can come from the outside to violate the rules of Okun and start causing sleepless night in the earth.

“I am appealing to you to exploit the abundant available potentials in agriculture to improve our people’s standard of living. These are areas where I want our young people to dissipate their energy to exploit to improve their standard of living,” he said.
