LAGOS 2027: Jandor promises to support any candidate the party chooses

A Lagos State gubernatorial aspirant, under the All Progressives Congress (APC) Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor has vowed to align with whatever decision the party leaders take to select candidates for the 2027 gubernatorial election.

He said “if our leaders and leadership decide to adopt a consensus nomination, JANDOR will be completely in line with that decision, regardless of who emerges.”

He disclosed this in a statement released on Saturday by his spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye.

He dismissed circulating speculation that the preferred candidate had been endorsed by party leaders and tribal chiefs ahead of the primary elections scheduled for next month.

The statement read in part, “We note the ongoing speculation alleging that the chosen candidate has been selected for our party, APC ahead of the 2027 Lagos governorship election.

“We restate, in line with the official position of the Lagos State APC leadership as conveyed by the State Chairman, that there is no anointed candidate and that all candidates will participate in the credible primaries.”

He said he was firmly committed to the process and was preparing for it, involving party members and strengthening its grassroots structures, while remaining guided by party discipline.

Therefore, Adediran appealed to party members not to misinterpret campaigns carried out by individuals or political groups as their chosen candidates for the position of the party or Chairman.

“When our party and Leader speak, I am sure no one will do otherwise,” he said.
