Lagos Police rescued Lebanese Fouani brothers kidnapped in Lagos waters and regained freedom

Three Lebanese Founi brothers, Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani and Amtal Fouani, who were kidnapped by gunmen last Friday in Lagos, have been rescued by officers of the Lagos State Police Command.

State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the rescue of the Lebanese businessman in a statement on Tuesday, without providing further details.

Ripples Nigeria on Friday, reported the kidnapping of three brothers behind Fouani Nigeria Ltd, an electronics business giant and sole distributor of LG, Hisense and Maxi products in Nigeria.

The three brothers were reportedly just returning from their factory when they were abducted around Falomo Bridge while traveling from Apapa to Victoria Island by boat.

“In a brazen act that has sent shockwaves through Lagos, gunmen have kidnapped four people traveling by boat,” the Ripples report said.

Hundeyin, on Saturday, confirmed the kidnapping of the Fouani brothers in a statement.

“Yes, that’s true. We have received the report and we are investigating it. Please, I am not obliged to say anything more than that,” he said.
