Aliko Dangote, president of Aliko Dangote Foundation and the richest person in Africa, has gained widespread praise on the transformative socio-economic effects of his national food rescue program.
The Foundation is currently distributing 80,000 10 kg rice bags to vulnerable residents throughout the state of Lagos, further consolidating its reputation as a philanthropist dedicated to the building the least privileged.
The rice distribution campaign nationally was officially started in Lagos on March 18 during a well -attended event at the Lagos Secretariat of Alausa, Ikeja.
Representing Dangote there was Hajiya Mariya Dangote, executive director of the group, who delivered the rescue objects to the governor of the state of Lagos Babajide Sanwo-Ever and other high officials.
Ever since the launch began through the 20 areas of the local government of Lagos, the residents have taken a shower to dance of awards for its compassion and the commitment to relieve hunger among the most vulnerable in society.
The distribution of rice completes the efforts in progress of the Foundation in Lagos, which include the daily supply of thousands of loaves of bread to the needy
To ensure a regular and fair distribution process, the 80,000 bags of rice have been assigned to a wide range of groups and associations, including people who live with disabilities, women and market men, non-indigenous communities (Arewa, Ndigbo and South-south), religious organizations, craftsmen, national craftsmen of Nigeria, joint development association, Nigeria association (Nuters), and hunting, and Hambers. Unili.
Olabowale Kasumu, president of Agbado Oke-Hodo Local Development Authority (LCDA) and Lagos State Cdc Welfare Officer supervised the distribution in its area and has praised the Aliko Dangote Foundation, led by the CEO/CEO, the Mrs. Zouera Youussoufou, for her impact gesture.
“This initiative brought joy and relief to the countless Nigerians. Aliko Dargote stands out as a Nigerian who has chosen to make the difference taking care of the vulnerable, a choice that really matters,” said Kasumu.
The beneficiaries also expressed their gratitude. Chidi Ugwuba, a member of the non -indigenous group (Ndigbo), thanked the Foundation for his generosity, observing that the rice would have significantly facilitated the difficulties of his family. Similarly, Turkson Abigail, coordinator of people who live with disabilities in Egbe Idimu Lcda, described the donation as “a blessing of God, especially during this fasting season”.
The president of the CDC of the local government of Ikorodu, the elderly Yekini Ogunjimi, said: “This rice Dangote will make a long way and is coming in a good moment, the Ramadan and the period lend it. We appreciate it and when the beneficiaries in groups receive palliative food, they share among their members who translate into the result of the Aliko Dongotic Foundation that has made many more blessings.
Another leader, Niran Ogunbawo, said that the biggest challenge that people are facing is how to nourish, adding that the distributed rice will make a lot to feed families and this will put smiles on the face. He added: “I want to thank the Aliko Dangote Foundation for this gift to the poor Nigerians. It is coming to a moment.”
Ms Adeoti, a beneficiary of the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu North Lcda, said that the community was happy to obtain the information that the Dangote Foundation is distributing the rice to the residents, noting that “during this Ramadan period, the rice will do a lot to support the family during Ifer”.
The president of the local government of Ikeja, Alhaja Adefolani Taibat, speaking to the distribution in the Ikeja axis, described the initiative as an anchor of salvation for many Lagosians who are observing the Ramadan Fast or Christian Lent.
He said: “This would do a lot to provide relief to families, in particular to those who are in the absence due to the current economic situation of the country. We praise Mr. Dangote for his moves to relieve hunger in the earth in this period, since this would help reduce the difficulties that many Nigerians are facing food on their tables.” He also urged other flourishing companies to take inspiration from what Dangote is currently doing to return to the nation.
The President of the National Association of Persons With Physical Disabilities (Lagos Chapter), Kayodo Shokunbi, in his observations, said: “Mr. Dangote is well known for his philanthropy, and has always made help when necessary. We appreciate him for yet another Lagos intervention, and I ask the government of Aliko in this period, and pray to the government of Aliko in this period, and we pray to the Aliko government and the state of Lagos.
A craftsman, Mr. Musa Fatai, who spoke on behalf of others, said: “We honestly appreciate dangrates for his effort to feed the least privileged. Several other beneficiaries sang the praise of dance for his compassion and the remarkable effort in helping the Nigerians in difficulty. They greeted all “Mr Dangote” as they received their rice bags with joy and headed home.
Recall that the Lagos current gesture is part of over one million 10 kg rice bags that would be distributed to reach a million people in the 774 areas of the local government of the country, as part of the National Food Relief Program of the Aliko Dangote Foundation. The program is underway to integrate government efforts to relieve the hunger for vulnerable and in need in society across the country.
