Lagos’s lawyer accuses the police of collecting N50.000 “for any petition presented”

It is important to attract your attention, Lord, that the police now collect n50,000.00 (fifty thousand naira) not implemented for any petition presented to the general quarter of the force, Alagbon, Lagos. No petition presented to this office will be followed until the N50,000.00 is attached.

Please confirm that this is the standard practice in the police and because payment revenues are not provided.

The official payments made in our courts are received. If this is the standard practice under Mr. Egbetokun’s watch, PGI, the general public should know and the revenues should be granted for such payments.

Please indicate the official position of the Nigerian police forces on the matter.
