The former midfielder from Rome, Erik Lamela, announced his retirement from international football due to hip problems.
The Argentine end has been having a hip pain since 2017, which made it obtain surgeries in both hips. Although he tried to improve, the pain would not disappear, so he had to stop playing.
The Argentine, while hiring Seville, announced his retirement at the age of 33 and last night he took social networks to explain his decision.
“I want to announce that I have made the decision to finish my professional career. It is a decision that I have been thinking for a long time and finally the time has come.

“For those who do not know, I have hip problems. They started 11 years ago, and in 2017 I underwent surgery in both hips, with the most affected left. It was a difficult year, I was very scared … I thought it could be the end of my career, and I was 25 years old.
“After the operations went well, they gave me four more years of career. They told me that it worsened over time, and that is what I am experiencing now. With a lot of sacrifice, spending hours with the physiotherapists, strengthening myself in the gym and with an endless series of injections and treatments, I have managed to play more than twice!
“This is an effort that only those who have been close to me can really understand. It has not been easy at all. Being with pain, playing and training with problems has become the norm over time.
โFor five years I have been taking pills for each game to be able to play in the best possible condition, starting with the lowest dose and recently taking the maximum two days before the game to be ready.
“Now I decide to put an end to all this, now all this effort ends”
