Lasueco 2000 Alumni Set Dona PA to support learning at Lasu – Theage

In a demonstration of lasting commitment for academic development, the Alumni class of Economics University of Lagos State University of 2000 (Lasueco_2000) has donated two systems of public addresses (PAS) complete to the University Economy Department. The donation aims to improve the disbursement of lessons and the involvement of students, especially in large classrooms.

The Systems of the AP were officially presented to the Department of the Faculty of Social Sciences, during a short ceremony chaired by the Head of the Department, prof. Fatai Ogunlana. Other members of the senior academic staff present included dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Olufemi Lawal; Prof. Kolawole Bashir, Dr. Kehinde Atayebrine and Dr. (Mrs.) Abari.

Representing the executive committee of the former students Lasueco_2000 were the vice -president, Mrs. Winifred Nnoduo; and the secretary, Mr. Busayo Ajakaiye, both underlined the meaning of returning to the institution that modeled their professional trips.

Nnoduo said: “This donation is a collective expression of our gratitude for the strong academic foundation Lasu has provided us. We commit ourselves to supporting current students while they strive for academic and personal excellence”.

Ajakaiye added: “Celebrating 25 years from our degree is a powerful milestone and reminder of our roots. We are more inspired than ever to have a significant impact that directly improves the learning environment of the current lasuited ones, however small. Support today’s students is an investment in tomorrow’s leaders”.

Receiving the donation, Ogunlana expressed the appreciation of the department: “We are truly grateful for this weighted and impact contribution. The Pas systems will significantly improve the disbursement of the lessons, especially in the large classrooms, and will support a more engaging learning experience. The scholarship of the former -alumni further reflects their lasting dedication in support of academic excellence”. He said.

Other members of the academic community on the occasion also praised the Alumni group for their weighted gesture for the improvement of the learning experience of the students in the department.

In addition to the donation of equipment, the Alumni group has announced an annual premium of scholarships N100,000 to reward the economy student at 300 levels more performing, starting this year.

Further activities to commemorate the anniversary of the Lasueco_2000 silver jubilee are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Lasueco_2000 has declared that he was committed to promoting connections throughout his life, supporting the growth of Lasu and enhancing current students through tutoring initiatives, funding and academic support.
