EDO NORTH FALLS TO APC: Lawani declares total victory
Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyu Lawani, Director General of the APC Governorship Election Campaign Council in Edo North Senatorial District, has confidently said that the party has established a stronghold in the region ahead of the September 21 elections.
Addressing journalists at his country home in Warrake on Sunday evening, the paramount leader of the APC in Owan East Local Government Area said: “The APC has consistently emerged victorious in Edo North and as the Director General of campaign, I can say that we have now completely secured the region, decisively defeating the PDP in all six local governments.”
Lawani stressed: “APC dominates the political landscape of Edo North and PDP will not get even a handful of votes this time. I assure you that our victory is certain.”
Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyu Lawani, a two-time Director General of the Edo North Campaign Council, has revealed that the APC has strategically dismantled the presence of the PDP in the region.
He said virtually all influential leaders and supporters of the PDP had defected to the APC. “Take a closer look at Edo North,” challenged Lawani. “Show me a determined politician and I will confirm that he is now a member of the APC.”
He stressed: “Strategic stakeholders in the region have rallied behind the APC, including those who opposed us in the last Presidential and National Assembly elections. They are now frontline leaders in the fight against bad governance in Edo State.”
Lawani praised comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, describing him as a “tireless activist” who commutes daily between Abuja and Edo State to advance the cause of the APC.
Lawani also berated Governor Godwin Obaseki, advising him to save Edo people from the consequences of employing federal force to subvert the elections and the will of the people in favor of the APC.
He said: “As our father, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, said, this is not the first time the APC has engaged with the PDP while holding the federal machinery, and Obaseki has always won. Federal power is never the problem; the truth is that Governor Obaseki has mismanaged his fortune, and anyone who mismanages their fortune must pay the consequences.
