The shepherd Korede Komaiya revealed how he and three others honored Bishop David Oyedepo for his seventieth birthday.
According to him, Bishop Oyedepo asked that instead of celebrating with sumptuous gifts, the funds were donated to 70 widows, poor and those in need.
However, the shepherd Komaiya and three others decided to surprise the bishop with a luxury rolls royce.
The car, which was purchased for a huge 1.5 billion walnuts, was a joint gift of the four individuals, with the shepherd Komaiya who contributed with N250 million.
The surprise gift left Bishop Oyedepo visibly shocked, and the bishop revealed that in his 70 years, nobody had ever given him a Rolls Royce.
He said: “My father’s 70th birthday was coming and we said ok, we must honor him. And he said nobody should do anything for him; We should give it to 70 widows, poor, needy people.
“So we looked at it, and four of us gathered and said we will buy a Rolls Royce. He will never use his money to buy a Rolls Royce; So this boy in front of you had the privilege of abandoning N250m. We are not just talking.
“We bought that car for n1.5 billion. I was the one who gave the youngest. It was N250m to honor my father. And we brought him the car, taking in mind not to put it on social media.
“So we brought him to him and was shocked. He said that in 70 years this (Rolls Royce) is the only thing nobody gave him. ” [culled from THE NATION except headline plus little edits]
