Like Imo, Benue forbids graduation parties for students in nurseries

The Benue state government has banned graduation parties by kindergarten, nursery, and elementary schools in the state.

Secretary of Permanent, Ministry of Education and Knowledge Management, Ny. Helen Nambaliv, stated this in the memo dated August 21, and addressed to stakeholders, parents, and guardians in Makurdi.

He said the decision would reduce financial burden on parents and direct attention to the academic development of children.

Secretary still added that the policy will apply from the 2025/26 academic session.

The memo reads: “The use of limited and adjusted educational material, such as textbooks/exercises in Benue State schools, makes it unparable by the next student, hereby abolished.
