Maduka Okoye leaves Super Eagles camp ahead of draw with Jordan

Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has left the Nigerian senior team camp ahead of the second match of the four-team invitational tournament being held in Turkey, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Okoye marked his return to the team with a 2-1 win against Iran, after turning down an invitation to the team that finished third in the AFCON in January.

Although he was expected to be rested for tomorrow’s game against Jordan, he has now left the team’s camp for their base in Italy after suffering a thigh injury.

The team’s official communication channel said that he received a blow in training that left him out of the last game tomorrow. Okoye is the third player to leave the team camp after the departure of Semi Ajayi and Bruno Onyemaechi, whose wife gave birth.

His departure means that the duo of Adebayo Adeleye and Francis Uzoho will now go head to head to determine who will be in goal for the match.
