Believers in the School of the Spirit
Christian life is not supported by wisdom or human strength; but fueled by the internal Holy Spirit. Writing says: “Anyone who has been born from God does not slicle; since his seed remains in him: and cannot sin, because he was born from God” (1 John 3: 9, Kjv), indicates a divine principle: there is a new life within the believer who resists sin and long for justice. The Spirit of God gives life to the spirit of man. This life is nourished in what can be called the School of the Spirit.
Life in Spirit
Life in spirit means walking and living daily under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Paolo exhorts in Galati 5:25: “If we live in the spirit, we also walk in the spirit”. Christianity becomes hard, dry and boring when believers try to live it in the flesh. The spirit alone allows you to live with joy and victoriously as God intends.
An example of a believer in the School of the Spirit is Filippo the deacon. After the persecution in Jerusalem, he went to Samaria and preached Christ with great audacity. Writing observes that the multitudes listened to him carefully because of the signs and wonders that God worked through him (acts 8: 5-8). But above all, Philip has shown a heart that was easy to be guided by the spirit.
In acts 8: 26–29, the angel of the Lord directed Filippo on the desert road he led to Gaza, where he met the Etiope Eunuch. The spirit said: “Approach and join this wagon” (v. 29). Philip did not discuss, delayed or resisted – he obeyed. This sensitivity and obedience to the spirit allowed him to be the ship through which the eunuch met salvation and the scriptures were adequate.
Philip’s example shows that a believer’s fruitfulness is linked to being guided by the spirit. The spirit knows where the prepared hearts are and guides us in divine appointments that we would never have orchestrated alone.
Are you easy to be guided by the Spirit?
Each believer must ask honestly: are I easy to be guided by the Holy Spirit? Romans 8:14 declares: “For those who are guided by the Spirit of God, they are the children of God”. The real filiation is demonstrated in the sale. When the spirit pushes, we immediately obey or hesitate, rationalize and resist?
Being in the School of the Spirit means learning to surrender daily: allowing God to interrupt our plans, tidy up our priorities and guide us in his perfect will.
Activities controlled by the spirit
In the School of the Spirit, no activity must be carried out independently of him (the Holy Spirit). Whether it’s preaching, praying, giving, serving or making decisions, everything must be controlled by the spirit. Jesus Christ himself modeled him when he said: “The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing” (John 5:19).
When believers neglect this dependence, their efforts may appear well externally, but they will always miss the power of God. Paul warned in Galatians 3: 3: “Are you so foolish? Having started in the Spirit, are you now made perfect by the meat?”
Believers in the School of the Spirit include that Christianity is not supported by human efforts but by the gift of the divine. Philip The Deacon showed us the fruitfulness of being guided by the Spirit. Walking in the spirit requires yielding, to be taught and let the spirit guide even the smallest activities of our life.
Meat will always resist, but the spirit leads to life and peace (Romans 8: 6). Those who walk in the spirit not only will overcome sin, but will also live as vases through which God manifests his power and purposes in the earth.
Make it your maximum goal from now to walk constantly and be guided by the Holy Spirit in every area of your life.
