Manu Garba: Golden Eaglets Champions Again

Coach Manu Garba has declared that the Golden Eaglets will claim his subregional crown in the AFCON 2025 WAFU B U17 classification tournament in Ivory Cote.

The Golden Eaglets are already arriving at the semifinal of the competition after they whipped Benin 4-1 in their initial group B.

Tomorrow, they face Burkina Faso to determine who wins the group after the Burkinabes also defeated Benin 1-0.

“Each team wants to win each game in a competitive tournament, and also does Nigeria. We want to try as much as possible to win each game in this competition and win each game, we will be WAFU-B champions again because that is where my team belongs,” said Manu Garba during Friday’s press conference, before Saturday’s game.

“We are here to play each game according to the laws of the game, but most importantly, we want to try as much as possible to win the game against Burkina Faso.”

Again he praised the efforts of his young players against Benin Republic, noting that none of the players was in the last edition of the tournament in Ghana.

“My boys did very well against the Republic of Benin.

“As the tournament progresses, they will improve. In our last game, against Beninoise, my captain was in the chest, so I had to take it out.

“It has recovered completely now. I am very optimistic that this team will improve.”

The game is scheduled for the 4 PM of Nigeria at Stade Lycee Scientifique in Yamoussoukro.
