A number of unspecified passengers are feared in a ship accident in the Shagari Regional Government in the Sokoto state on Thursday.
Special Advisor of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to the Governor, Aminu Bodinga, confirmed the incident to journalists on Friday.

He said SEMA officials and other emergency respondents had been deployed to the accident site for rescue operations.
The remaining agencies involved in the operation are the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).
The incident was the second in Sokoto in the last two weeks.
At least three people were confirmed dead and 20 others were missing in a similar incident in the northwestern state on August 15.
