Military Courts of Army Penalties to Death of Girlfriend Murder

Martial General Courts who sat at the 82th Division headquarters, Nigerian Army, Enugu, had punished a soldier, Adamu Mohammed, to death by hanging the murder of his girlfriend.

Deputy Director of Acting, Army Public Relations, 82 Divisions, Lieutenant-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday at Enugu.

He said the sentence was handed down to the convict after the charges of the load by the panel.

GCM, consisting of 11 members, was inaugurated by General Commander (GOC), 82 divisions, Nigeria Army, Major. Oluyemi Olatoye, on February 18.

GCM President, Brig-Gen. Sadisu Buhari, when delivering a verdict, said Mohammed was found guilty of the accusation of the murder.

Buhari said that it was a violation that could be punished based on Section 106 (a) of the Law on the Armed Forces, Cap A20 LFN 2004.

“Considering this, GCM has determined that the army accused, 21NA/80/6365 Pte Adamu Mohammed, hereby was sentenced to death by hanging accusations of murder,” said the court of the court.
