Ministry of Interior to collaborate with Nass Library Trust Fund on intellectual infrastructure
Abuja (basic reporter) Interior Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Tuesday received the executive secretary of the National Assembly Library Trust Fund, RT. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, in a courtesy visit to the Ministry for collaboration to promote strategic communication on the architecture of national information and intellectual infrastructures
The visit underlined the importance of managing knowledge, research and collaboration to advance the internal safety and legislative effectiveness of Nigeria.
In his observations, Dr. Tunji-Ojo, a former member of the House of Representatives, welcomed his colleague and friend with whom he had shared the legislative responsibilities in the National Assembly. The minister underlined the role of structured knowledge and legislative support in improving internal governance and institutional development.
“A shared understanding of concepts is needed such as international strategic planning in national development areas,” said the minister. “We have to deepen our research, learn from our past errors and strive not to repeat them. That’s why the collaboration with institutions such as the National Assembly Library Trust Fund is the key to modeling a more informed government culture.”
He praised the Trust Fund Library for his dedication to distribute solutions guided by ICTs in documentation and legislative support, stating that “there is so much that we can do together to create a national megaphone that amplifies data based on data, research and civil knowledge for democracy and national security”.
The executive secretary, of the National Assembly Library Trust Fund, RT. Hon. Henry Nwawuba also expressed a profound appreciation for the minister’s warm reception. He noticed the strategic relevance of the Ministry of the Interior in guaranteeing national stability and underlined the role of information systems and the documentation in supporting both the legislator and the ministries in Nigeria.
“With the support of visionary leaders such as Dr. Tunji-Ojo, we can implement our goal of establishing a world-level national library structure similar to the Congress Library, an hub for political research, legislative analysis and institutional memory,” he said. “We can’t wait to collaborate with the Ministry of the Interior in areas that touch both legislative and executive weapons of the government”.
The meeting ended with a note of optimism and shared commitment in strengthening the institutional paintings of Nigeria through research, documentation and digital integration.
