In the midst of circulating rumors that showed he had rejected the appointment of the famous government, Mohammed Babangida, the son of former military president General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (RTD), officially confirmed his acceptance to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank Agriculture (BOA).
The clarification came in response to the letter that made a round on social media, wrongly claiming that Babangida had rejected the new appointment -this was approved by the President of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a strict rebuttal issued through his aide, Alhaji Mahmud Abdullahi, Babangida rejected the letter as a fabrication designed to mislead the public.
“The letter circulating is a letter made from elements that are dissatisfied,” Abdullahi said on his name.
Setting the record, Babangida confirmed his willingness and readiness to serve in that position.
“I have received an appointment. I am ready to serve as chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank Agriculture,” he said.

In his statement, Babangida stated a deep appreciation to the President for entrusting him with responsibility.
“I thank the Ball President Ahmed Tinubu for thinking I was worthy of his position,” he said.
He further promised to approach the role with the dedication and mindset driven by reform.
“I promise to place the best to change the organization for the whole interest of the nation,” Babangida convincingly.
Its acceptance places speculation of rest and social media chat trying to doubt its commitment to national services. Stakeholders in the agriculture and financial sectors are expected to watch the next steps at the Agricultural Bank under their leadership.
