Two decomposed bodies of victims of the devastating flood that crossed the city of Mokwa, the headquarters in the area of the local government of Mokwa in the state of the Niger, on May 29, were recovered on Thursday.
Daily Trust had reported that Flash floods submerged buildings and wiped out many people from their homes following a torrential rain.
The general manager, the emergency management agency of the state of the Niger, Abdullahi Baba Arah, Akot confirmed the recovery of the two bodies to our correspondent Thursday.

Arah said the bodies were discovered downstream of the bridge where the flooding waters had passed, after on Wednesday he washed the sand dunes that had covered the corpses.
“The 2 dead bodies were recovered today on the Ponte Valley. Yesterday’s rains that flowed along the water channel washed off the sand dunes that covered the corpses. The bodies were decomposed beyond recognition,” he said.
The government of the state of the Niger had said that they were not even less than 700 people, while another 207 were confirmed death for the disaster.
