Morocco FA wants CAF to suspend the referee for falling to grant them the penalty in Wafcon’s final defeat against Nigeria

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has presented an official protest to the African football confederation (CAF) against Namibia arbiter Antsino Twanyukwa, who handled Wafcon’s final against Nigeria, reports Owngoalnigeria.com.

Nigeria came from two goals down to win the 3-2 game against the host, and after they have now presented a protest against the referee for the way, which managed the game especially their refusal to give them a penalty after a VAR review, after an incident in the work ball against Nigeria.

In his statement, the FRMF expressed his dismay for the failure of the referee to grant a penalty in the 82nd minute when the score was tied 2-2.

According to Morocco’s complaint, the video images seemed to show a handball of a Nigerian defender inside the box, but after a VAR review, the referee chose to let the game continue, which caused immediate protests of the bank and the players of Morocco.

The Martócica Federation argued that the controversial decision had a decisive impact on the result of the party, which Nigeria won, claiming a tenth Wafcon title that extends records.
