Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia said on Thursday that his government was keen to deliver good governance to the general public and not to “bigwigs” in the state.
The governor stated this in a chat with State House Correspondents shortly after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Alia said he was at the seat of power to brief the president on the security and ecological situation in Benue State.
The governor stressed that it was the poor masses who elected him to office, not those who see themselves as power brokers in the state.
Alia also dismissed claims that he was forcing candidates on the people ahead of the October 5 local government elections in the state.
