The National Association of Nigeria Professional Footkers (Nanpf) applauded the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for accepting to give the Plateau United goalkeeper, Adewale Adeyinka, the opportunity to defend himself for the accusations of betting and matches matches.
According to the secretary general of Nanpf, his partner Austin Popo, the decision reflects the principles of justice and equity in the administration of football. He observed that the player deserves the possibility of presenting his team in history, which will guide the league body in reaching an acceptable and balanced decision.
The union of players had previously presented a petition to the NPFL to guarantee Adeyinka a fair hearing, underlining that although it does not forgive bets or match-Fixing, the right process must be followed. The NPFL has now repaired on Thursday 21 August 2025, so that Adeyinka appears in front of his disciplinary panel at the Lega secretariat in Abuja.
Meanwhile, Adventa Adeyinka has expressed gratitude to Nanpf for his intervention and support throughout the case. “I want to thank the union for being next to me and making sure to have a fair hearing. I also encourage the companions to identify myself with the union of the players in advance, not only when problems arise. Nanpf has shown that he is always ready to defend and support the players,” he said.
He also urged professionals throughout the League to embrace Nanpf’s activities and programs, describing them how life changes and vital for the progress of the Nigerian players.
